Playing a board game is a fun at-home date! With the explosion of innovative board games, there’s tons of 2 player games to choose from. Or, you could invite another couple over and have a double date board game night.

Our top list of 2 player games are (in no particular order):

Century: Spice Road is a great engine building deckbuilder, where you you play as a trader on the silk road.

Carcassonne has you building a map with castles, roads, monestaries, and more. It’s has a great worker placement mechanic with a sprinkling of area control and push-your-luck.

Dominion is the quintessential deckbuilding game. You play as an ambitious monarch, building up your kingdom by expanding your land, constructing buildings, and more.

Jaipur is another great trading game, where you compete to earn “seals of excellence” to get your place in the Jaipur Maharaja’s court. It is a sleek set-building game played in 3 rounds.

Race for the Galaxy is very symbol heavy. But if you can get past this barrier to entry, it’s a super well designed engine building, role selection game, where you play a space-faring civilization fighting to take over the galaxy.

Hive is an abstract strategy game, where each of your insect-themed pieces has a different movement style. Surround your opponent’s queen to win!

TransEuropa and TransAmerica are a fast-paced race to connect your cities before your opponent can connect theirs. The twist is that as you build out your rail lines, you may be helping your opponent!
